HeavenFest Recap

Man, was HeavenFest a blast!  There are few things as exciting as seeing the Lord encounter people in all kinds of ways.  And during something like HeavenFest, you get to see so many different aspects of who the Lord is as He is interacting with people on a deeply personal level.  In the prayer and worship tent, people came close to the Father heart of God and had to respond.  In addition to pure worship, many responded by participating in the prayer stations that the WWM team set up.  Here they took their encounter with the Father’s heart and prayed for their lost friends and family, our city, state, country and the world.  There is no more appropriate response to worship than prayer for the lost.

One of the other amazing opportunities we had at HeavenFest was to be able to oversee the ministry teams.  Right outside that worship tent, we had our baptism station and saw nearly 80 people get dunked!  But more than the number, one of the most incredible things about the baptisms were how many of them were families- continuing the theme of the Father’s heart!  The was one family in particular that had some deep wounding between father and the mother and daughters.  The family came to HeavenFest together, and the mother and daughters were baptized, understanding the redemptive nature on a spiritual level, but also as a statement of forgiveness and redemption as a family.

Just as with the other two areas, there are more stories than there would ever be room for.  However, there is one in particular here that again re-emphasizes that Father’s heart.  We had prayer teams stationed all over the place.  Some were stationed at different locations, and then there was one team that just roamed and asked people permission to pray for them.  All of them were there to minister to the other people there.  On one of our teams there was a volunteer that suffers from a mental and physical handicap.  So right there in the lunch line, a group of other volunteers stopped to pray for him and there the Lord straightened his legs, allowing him to run for the first time in his life!  And what was his response?  That God had to be praised!  It was something seemingly simple, but the Father knows the heart of His children, and He knew what this would mean to His son.

We can’t express how blessed we are by being able to even just be in the Presence of God as He touches people’s lives.  There is nothing that reflects the heart of the ministry of WWM more than what happened over that weekend!  This is why we do what we do!
